Palm Beach State College (PBSC) offers an A.S. Degree in Health Information Technology (HIT), which provides a solid foundation to start or continue a career in health information management, health information systems, and health informatics. Students completing the HIT A.S. degree are prepared for the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credentialing examination from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). In addition, students will receive College Credit Certificates (CCC) for both the Medical Information Coder/Biller and Health Informatics Specialist programs. Students are eligible to obtain their certifications as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and the Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS®). All Health Information Technology programs are offered fully online.
PBSC is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM) and is approved through the Professional Certificate Approval Program (PCAP) by AHIMA. PBSC is an Organizational Affiliate with HIMSS in addition to being an Approved Education Partner.
