Required Industry Milestones
- Achieved sustainable improvement to clinical care outcomes and population health through the utilization of information and technology-enabled workflows, care standardization and analytics to drive quality improvement.
- Hospital and health system applicants:Β Accomplished Stage 7 validation on one of theΒ HIMSS Maturity Models and can demonstrate significant improvements or sustained top performance on key clinical quality measures and outcomes enabled through information and technology.
- Untethered ambulatory and community health center applicants:Β Received a minimum Stage 4 validation on the HIMSS Community Care Outcomes Model and can demonstrate significant improvements or sustained top performance on key clinical quality measures and outcomes enabled through information and technology.
- Public health applicants:Β Measured your organizationβs digital health capaibilities using the HIMSS Digital Health Indicator and can demonstrate significant improvements in public health related functionality benefiting the jurisdiction you serve enabled through information and technology
The 2025 Davies Award submission period opens February, 15, 2025. Case studies must be submitted no later than June 15, 2025. Samsung Medical Center Earns 2024 Davies Award, First-Ever in the Republic of Korea
Samsung Medical Center, which has achieved four HIMSS Stage 7 maturity model validations, has been recognized as a 2024 HIMSS Davies Award recipient. Samsung Medical Center is the first hospital to be recognized with the Davies Award in the Republic of Korea since the awardβs inception in 1994. βWe are deeply honored to be recognized as a Davies Award recipient,β said Dr. Poong-Lyul Rhee, Chief Data and Digital Officer of Samsung Medical Center. βOur three innovative cases aim to improve patient outcomes and reduce the workload of medical staff, ultimately enhancing the culture in the healthcare industry. Corewell Health Earns Davies Award for Using Clinical Informatics to Improve Care
Corewell Health has been recognized as a recipient of a 2024 HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence. Corewell Health, based in Grand Rapids and Southfield, is the first health system in Michigan to receive the Davies Award since 2018Β C.aring for patients across the state of Michigan, Corewell Health submitted evidence-based case studies demonstrating applications of clinical informatics to improve the care and wellness for their underserved and chronic disease patient populations.

Taichung Veterans General Hospital Earns 2024 Davies Award for Using AI to Improve Care, Safety and Reduce Pain
Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH), has been recognized as a 2024 HIMSS Davies Award recipient. TCVGH is only the third hospital in Asia and the second in Taiwan to be recognized with the Davies Award since the Awardβs inception in 1994. Based Taichung, Taiwan, TCVGH submitted evidence-based case studies demonstrating applications of artificial intelligence to improve care outcomes for patients struggling with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a chronic autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in the joints and ligaments of the spine.
