Fakeeh Care Group Achieves HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7 Validation Across All Four Hospitals
Fakeeh Care Group has achieved a significant milestone in its digital health transformation, with all four of its hospitals now validated at Stage 7 on the HIMSS Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model, the model's highest level of digital maturity.
The latest validations of Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital Jeddah and Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital Madinah build on the group's existing portfolio of Stage 7-validated facilities, positioning Fakeeh Care Group among a select group of healthcare organizations globally to achieve the highest level of EMRAM validation across all its hospitals.
Reaching this level across an entire hospital group reflects an organization-wide approach to digital health. During the HIMSS validations, assessors highlighted Fakeeh Care Group's executive leadership, advanced analytics capabilities, data governance practices and strategic vision for digital transformation. They also recognized a strong culture of continuous improvement, with technology and trusted data supporting evidence-based decision-making across clinical and operational teams.
“Achieving HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7 is more than a recognition of digital maturity; it reflects our commitment to embedding technology into clinical practice to deliver safer, smarter, and more patient-centered care,” said Dr. Tamara Sunbul, Group Chief Information Officer at Fakeeh Care Group. “What makes this achievement particularly meaningful is that we have built digital excellence into the foundation of a newly established hospital, demonstrating that digital transformation is not simply about implementing technology, but about empowering our people, optimizing clinical workflows, and continuously improving patient outcomes.”
Fakeeh Care Group's digital transformation journey also extends into the growing application of artificial intelligence across its healthcare ecosystem.
The organization is currently validating and implementing multiple AI applications and establishing an AI Center of Excellence to support innovation across its facilities. Existing applications include ambient listening and automated documentation support for clinicians, as well as AI-assisted appointment booking for patients.
“Fakeeh Care Group's achievement demonstrates the importance of strong data governance and high-quality, standardized clinical data in advancing digital maturity,” said Ellen Klaus, Senior Digital Health Advisor at HIMSS. “These capabilities enable healthcare organizations to better understand clinical activity and outcomes, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate information into actionable insights that support informed decision-making and better patient care.”
With all four hospitals now validated at EMRAM Stage 7, Fakeeh Care Group has demonstrated the ability to establish and sustain advanced digital capabilities across its organization. Its continued investment in data governance, clinical innovation and emerging technologies illustrates how digital maturity can serve as a foundation for the next phase of healthcare transformation.
