Global Health Equity Week 2025 continues its dedication to creating equitable care, outcomes, and opportunity through digital health by celebrating Veteran’s Day on Tuesday, November 11. The day’s programming highlights the ongoing efforts to increase care access, digital health education and career pathways for veterans. 

Veterans face unique challenges when it comes to accessing care, navigating benefits, and transitioning into civilian health careers. This theme highlights efforts to bridge those gaps through mentorship, digital health education, policy advocacy, and technology solutions that honor their service with equitable support.

The featured event of the day is the event Honoring Service, Advancing Impact: Celebrating One Year of the HIMSS Veterans Community. This special Veterans Day webinar celebrated the one-year anniversary of the HIMSS Veterans Community, honoring the service and contributions of HIMSS veteran members. The event showcased a range of initiatives supporting veterans in health information and technology, including the Hero’s Welcome membership, the HIMSS Changemaker in Veteran Health Award and the community’s dedicated LinkedIn network. 

Additional programming explores data-driven improvement and leadership collaboration. The on-demand webinar Uncovering Insights: The Impact of Prehospital Data on Hospital Patient Care and Operations examines how compliant EMS NEMSIS data is transforming hospital readiness, operational efficiency and clinical decision-making.

Coffee with the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Task Force: Leadership & Governance offers a more personal, interactive forum. Healthcare professionals will gather to discuss leadership strategies, governance models and ways to foster collaboration across the health technology landscape.
