As part of Global Health Equity Week, the HIMSS Foundation is launching the HIMSS Foundation Professional Certification Grant Program, an initiative designed to strengthen the global health workforce by expanding access to professional advancement in digital health. 

The grant program aims to continue the HIMSS commitment to advancing global health equity by expanding access to digital health careers, helping remove economic barriers to entering or advancing in the health information and technology field. 

Through this new program, the HIMSS Foundation will provide full financial support for individuals seeking to earn HIMSS professional certifications. Eligible certifications include the Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems, Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems, and the Certified Professional in Digital Health Transformation Strategy certifications.

Grant recipients will receive:

• Official HIMSS exam review guides
• Exam registration fees
• A one-year HIMSS membership
• Access to optional virtual prep sessions and support resources

The HIMSS Foundation Professional Certification Grant welcomes applicants at all career stages from underserved or historically underrepresented communities. This includes early-career professionals, emerging workforce talent, professionals transitioning into health information and technology and individuals seeking to expand their impact within their organizations or communities.

This program is global, open to individuals from all regions, with recipients committing to complete their certification and applying their new expertise to advance equitable health outcomes in their communities.
