HIMSS Hosts Office Hours on Rural Health Transformation Program
HIMSS will host three office hour sessions to provide guidance on the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) and to suggest resources and digital health model practices in support of program applications.
HIMSS policy and informatics experts will answer attendee questions and share insights relating to the tech innovation goals of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services RHTP cooperative agreement with states.
As authorized by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the Rural Health Transformation Program will make $50 billion available to states to support health transformation activities in state programs and rural health hospitals and providers. States must apply for program funding by Nov. 5, 2025.
Registration is open for three HIMSS office hour sessions, scheduled for:
- Friday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. Eastern Time
- Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m. Eastern Time
- Monday, Oct. 20, at 12 p.m. Eastern Time
During each session, HIMSS policy and informatics experts will share approaches for prioritizing new technologies emphasizing prevention and chronic disease management; prioritizing data-driven and technology-driven solutions that help rural providers deliver healthcare services as close to the patient’s home as possible; and initiating, fostering and strengthening local and regional strategic partnerships between rural hospitals and other providers to promote quality improvement, increase financial stability, maximize economies of scale and share best practices
Attendees are also invited to share insights during the sessions.
