Global Health Equity Week 2025 concludes Friday, Nov. 14, with the theme of Data for Equity: Unlocking the Power of Health Informatics. The final day’s theme emphasizes how comprehensive, interoperable and representative health data can drive equitable care and guide more inclusive health system transformation.

The three-part Social Determinants of Health series highlights how nurses and health systems are integrating SDOH insights into patient-centered care using interoperable health IT to improve outcomes. The accompanying on-demand webinar, Pulse Check: Where Are We with Social Determinants of Health?, examines strategies and best practices to address barriers to care through community-driven initiatives. 

An Economic Imperative to Invest in Women’s Health, a Healthcare IT News article, outlines how improving women’s health delivers measurable societal and economic benefits. On a HIMSS TV interview, Dr. Robert Jarve of Corewell Health shares how analyzing population health data helped his team identify key drivers of emergency department utilization and design targeted interventions for high-risk Medicaid patients.

Global Health Equity Week also features a HIMSS-partnered article with Álvaro Queijo of Uruguay’s Apraful, who emphasizes that digital transformation is a means to strengthen rights, improve outcomes and advance equity across Latin America.

Concurrently, the HIMSS Digital Maturity Forum brings together digital health leaders from across the globe to explore how data and interoperability can power system-wide transformation.
