Nursing
The nursing-focused sessions at HIMSS25 Europe explored the rapidly evolving role of nurses in a digitally enabled, community-centered healthcare system. At the heart of the conversation was a call to elevate nurses as innovation leaders, not just frontline caregivers. As the most trusted and frequently engaged members of the healthcare workforce, nurses are uniquely positioned to guide the design and implementation of patient-centered digital transformation.
Across the track, speakers reinforced the idea that digital tools, particularly those powered by AI, can dramatically improve nursing workflows, reduce documentation burdens and enhance safety by minimizing errors.
To achieve this vision, the healthcare sector must invest in both technology and the people who use it. This includes reshaping nursing education to include digital fluency and creating policy environments that allow nurses to co-lead innovation.
